REMEMBER, YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME (2)

I haven't used the Ella & Friends stamp set from Mama Elephant for a while, so that's what I did today.

I started by stamping all the critters in the set and I also stamped the little umbrella. I colored all the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Elephant: W2 - W5
Bunny: E00 - E11 - E21
Hedgehog: E25 - E29/ E00 - E11
Mouse: E71 - E77
Umbrella: BG23 - BG49/ V04 - V06

I die cut all the images with my Cuttlebug and I went over to my background. I took some Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and wetted the paper. I didn't add any water to the borders, I wanted to leave an egde. I applied Distress Inks with a paint brush. I used three colors. I started with Evergreen Bough on the top, then I added some Peacock Feathers and to the bottomt I used Salty Ocean. I made sure the three colors blended well. I dried the panel with my heat tool and applied another layer of watercolor. Again heated it with my heat tool.

I wanted to heat emboss the sentiment with some Silver Embossing Powder from Ranger. I first used a powder tool, because else the embossing powder will stick to places I don't want it. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and then heat embossed it with the embsossing powder.

I assembles the card by adhering all the images with some foam tape. I added the panel to a blue cardbase and rounded off the top right corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

This is a perfect card to send to a dear friend, just to let them know that you're there for them.

  1. How absolutely adorable this card is! I love the little scene that you created and how it so clearly expresses your sentiment. I also thought the pops of silver were a great way to add some sophistication and elegance to your card. It has both whimsy and loveliness and I'm so glad you shared it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
