YOUR JOKES ARE ALWAYS A-MOOSE-ING (1)

The Dad + Me stamp set from Lawn Fawn is designed for father’s day cards, but it can do so much more. I decided to make a friendship card with it, but it can also be used as a father's day or mother's dat card of course.

I started by creating all the elements for the scene. I trimmed a square piece of watercolor cardstock. This is going to be the base and the sky. I die cut grass with the Grassy Border die from Lawn Fawn and I also used the Stitched Mountain Borders from Lawn Fawn to die cut mountains. I used Distress Inks and my ink blending tool to give them some colors. Here are the colors I used:
Sky: Salty Ocean
Grass: Mowed Lawn
Mountains: Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy

I set these aside and stamped all the images. I stamped the pond in Fish Tank Ink from Lawn Fawn and the plant in Doe Ink from Lawn Fawn and Green Room Ink from My Favorite Things. The big moose and the baby moose were colored with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Big moose: E25 – E77
Little moose: E35 – E25
Antlers + hoofs: E41 – E00 – E21

I fussy cut all the images and stamped the sentiment. I die cut a frame with the Stitched Square Scallop Frames from My Favorite Things. I used kraft cardstock for this. I then assembled the card. I adhered all the elements together and only used foam tape on the grass, the stamped images and the top side of the frame. The ret was all adhered flat. I added the entire panel to a kraft cardbase. As a finishing touch I added some glitter to make the water sparkle. I used the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.

THANKS (3)

Today I created a photo booth style card using the You Gnome Me stamp set from My Favorite Things.

I started by trimming a strip of white cardstock and I drew 3 squares onto it with a pencil. I masked of the edges and stamped three of the gnome images into the squares. This way it looks like the gnome is in a picture taken in a photo booth.

I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Face: E00 – E21
Hat (and pants, you can see a little bit of it): YG03 – G14 – G05
Shirt: Y11 – Y02 – Y21
Beard: C0 – C2
Background: B00 – B02 – B05

When I finished coloring, I went over to the rest of the card. I cut a broad strip from some green striped pattern paper, from the Let’s Polka in the Meadow line by Lawn Fawn. I cut two strips of black cardstock to go on either side of thise pattern paper. I adhered this to a white cardbase with foam tape. I rounded of the corners of the photo booth strip and adhered flat to the card. I die cut the sentiment with the Thanks word die from Paper Smooches. I adhered it to the panel.
To finish it off, I rounded off the right corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and added glitter to the gnome’s hat with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen. I also added a little yellow paperclip to the top of the card, so it looks like it's holding the photos.

HAVE AND UPBEET DAY (3)

I made a birthday card using the Rooting For You stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I wanted to watercolor the entire background scene. First the sky. I watercolored it with Distress Inks. I used Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. I then die cut a piece of paper with the Puffy Cloud Borders from Lawn Fawn, bu instead of using the die cut as a cloud I turned it into a bush. I watercolored it with Pine Needles Distress Ink. I die cut a grass border with the grassy border die from Lawn Fawn and watercolored it with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I die cut two hills with the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn and watercolored them with Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I set all the pieces aside to dry properly and went over to my images. I stamped all the vegetables and here are the inks I used for them:
Carrot: Carrot Ink and Pumpkin Spice Ink (Lawn Fawn)
Beet: Fresh Lavender Ink and Sugarplum Ink (Lawn Fawn)
Turnip: Butter Ink and Fresh Lavender Ink (Lawn Fawn)
Radish: Lobster Ink (Lawn Fawn)
Leafs: Sour Apple Ink and Green Room Ink (My Favorite Things)

I fussy cut the images and stamped my sentiment. I started on assembling the card. I added everything but the hills flat onto the panel. I adhered the panel to a beige cardbase.

YOU ARE MAGICAL (2)

When I got the Magical Unicorns stamp set from My Favorite Things, the first thing I thought of was a slider card. I didn’t have a specific idea at the time, but now I did. And here is the result.

I took some white cardstock that I wanted to use as my background. I wanted to do some very light blending on it and used two Distress Ink colors: Shaded Lilac and Spun Sugar.

I stamped one of the unicorns and colored him with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Unicorn: C0 – C2
Manes: RV21 – RV23
Nose + hoofs: BV02 – BV000

I fussy cut the image out. I die cut two cloud borders with the Puffy Cloud Borders from Lawn Fawn. I die cut the slider portion with one of the dies from Slide On Over, by Lawn Fawn. Then I adhered the clouds with foam tape and stamped the sentiment.

I took 5 cents and added a small piece of foam tape to it. Small enough to fit through the slider portion of the card. I adhered the unicorn to the cent. I used the Spectrum Noir Silver Sparkle Pen for the horn on the unicorn. I stamped some stars in the sky and used the Spectrum Noir Silver Sparkle Pen for those as well.

I adhered the panel to a white cardbase, using a double layer of foam tape. I rounded of the bottom right and top left corner with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. And done is my unicorn slider card!

YOU COLOR MY WORLD (3)

For the Lawnscaping Challenge I made this colorful card. The task was to add some rainbow inspired colors. I immediately got this great idea with the Color My World stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

Because there are seven colors in a rainbow, I stamped the crayon seven times. I colored them in rainbow order, with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Red crayon: R14 – R29 – R59
Orange crayon: YR15 – YR04 – YR68
Yellow crayon: Y02 – Y06 – Y08
Green crayon: G14 – G05 – G17
Blue crayon: BG1 – BV05 – B05
Purple crayon: BV02 – V17 – V09
Pink crayon: RV13 – RV23 – RV21

I die cut the images with my Cuttlebug. I took some watercolor cardstock and started on my background. I wanted it to look like the crayons colored something on the paper. I used Distress Inks to make colored lines. I only used one brush stroke. I used the following Distress Ink colors from left t right: Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and adhered the crayons to the panel with foam tape. The panel I adhered flat to a red cardbase and I rounded of the two bottom corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I also added some shimmer to the faces of the crayons with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (9)

Someone asked me to make a birthday card and she really liked the Chewbacca card I made a while ago. I used the Yeti, Set, Go stamp set from Lawn Fawn, where I turned the Yeti into Chewbacca from Star Wars.

I started by stamping the yeti, but didn’t want the belly. I added the belt onto the image with a Sakura pen. I colored Chewbacca with Copic Markers. I also stamped a balloon for him to hold and some pine trees for the background. Here are the colors I used:
Chewbacca: E15 – E25 – E29
Face + paws: E00 – E11
Tongue: R14
Belt: W2 – W5 – W7
Balloon: G14 – G07 – G17 Trees: G21 – BG93 – BG96

I die cut Chewbacca and the trees with my Cuttlebug and I fussy cut the balloon. Then I went over to my background. I took some watercolor paper and stamped a little star onto it with Versamark Ink. I then heat embossed the stars with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow. I used Distress Inks and a mini ink blending tool to color the background. I started with the color Salty Ocean. Around the edges I came in with Seedless Preserves and a little bit of Chipped Sapphire.

I die cut three hills with the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn. All three hills were colord with a different Distress Ink color. For the one in the back I used Pine Needles, the middle one I did with Mowed Lawn and the hill in the front I colored with Old Paper Distress Ink.

I adhered all the images. Chewbacca, the balloon and the middle hill were all adhered with foam tape. The rest flat. I stamped the sentiment onto the hills. I curved the sentiment, so it goes along with the hill. I added the panel to a kraft cardbase and rounded of the top right corner. As a finishing touch I added some Glossy Accents to the balloon.

YOU'RE A-MAIZE-ING (1)

I’ve wanted this Happy Harvest stamp set from Lawn Fawn for so long and I finally got it. I actually wanted to wait until the fall to create cards with it, but I couldn’t. And it’s not necessarily a harvest set, you can create all sorts of cards with it. And although it has a fall feel to it, this card can be send during any other season. Happy Harvest might be one of my all-time favorite Lawn Fawn sets.

I started on the background. I die cut a rectangle from watercolor cardstock, using the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things. I added Salty Ocean Distress Ink to it, with my mini ink blending tool. Around the top edges I also blended a little bit of Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I adhered this panel to some pattern paper from Echo Park.

I stamped a couple of the corn branches onto the blended panel. I used Doe Ink from Lawn Fawn. Then I started die cutting grass, using the Grassy Border die from Lawn Fawn. I die cut it three times. I used Scattered Straw Distress Ink to give the grassy borders some color. I adhered the largest border flat to the panel. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the second largest border and adhered this to the panel with foam tape. The smallest border I adhered flat onto the panel. The scene is set.

I stamped the scarecrow, three crows and the pumpkins (the smallest twice) and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Scarecrow face: E00 – E21
Straws: Y21 – Y38
Sweater + rim of the hat: R14 – R17 – R29
Pants + hat: B93 – B95
Buttons: Y02
Nose: Y21
Stake: E25 – E77
Crows: W5 – W7 – BV29
Beaks: Y21

I fussy cut all the images and added them to the scene. I added everything with foam tape, except for the pumpkins. I adhered the panel to an orange cardbase.

This is definitely one of my favorite cards of the year. And I love this stamp set (maybe because I love the fall so much).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (8)

I wanted to use Distress Inks as watercolors for today’s card. I used the Year Two mini stamp set from Lawn to make a birthday card.

I started on the background. I took some watercolor cardstock and I got two Distress Ink colors: Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seed. I took a flat paint brush with a round edge. I made light stripes from one side to the other, changing colors every time. This is a very simple way to create a fun, playful and colorful background.

I set the background aside to dry and started on my images. I stamped the turtle, party hat and gift. I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Turtle: BG93 – BG96 – G21
Turtle shell:YG03 – G14 – G28
Present + party hat: Y08 – Y38 – YR04

I fussy cut all the images. Then I die cut a circle, with the Double Stitched Circle STAX from My Favorite Things. One I die cut from the same watercolor paper as I used for the background, and a bigger circle I die cut from vellum. I adhered the circles together and eventually I adhered it to the background using foam tape. The images I also adhered with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow. I cut a strip and made it into a flag banner. I adhered it to the card, the edges with foam tape.

As a finishing touch I added some glitter to the party hat and the gift, with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen. I also rounded off the bottom to corners and added the panel onto a green cardbase.

Super simple, yet super fun!

WISHING YOU SUNSHINE (1)

I recently got the Sun and Moon dies from Lawn Fawn. They are perfect to add to a scene, but I created a card by just using these dies. No stamps (besides the sentiment of course).

I started by die cutting the sun from yellow cardstock, with my Cuttlebug. I also die cut the three clouds from the Simple Puffy Clouds, also from Lawn Fawn. I didn’t want the clouds to be white, so I applied some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to the edges, with a very light hand. I stamped a smiley face onto the sun.

For the background I didn’t wanted to do anything fancy. I just took some Salty Ocean Distress Ink and blended it onto the middle of the card. I worked from the middle to the outside. It didn’t matter if it was a little bit messy, because you are only going to see a little bit around the sun and clouds.

I adhered the sun and clouds onto the background with foam tape. I stamped the word Sunshine with Violet’s ABC’s, from Lawn Fawn. I added the words Wishing You to the sentiment as well. It’s part of a sentiment and I curved it so it goes around the sun.

As a finishing touch I stamped some little hearts in Lobster Ink from Lawn Fawn. I added the panel to some pattern paper. I used a sheet from Let’s Polka in the Meadow by Lawn Fawn. I adhered it all to a blue cardbase and rounded off the bottom right and top left corner with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Super cute and perfect to brighten someone’s day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (7)

For the Lawnscaping Challenge we had to create a card inspired by a mood board. I used the Chirpy Chirp Chirp stamp set from Lawn Fawn to make a birthday card.

I started by stamping the three chicks from the set and I also stamped some balloons. I used the balloons from the Monsters set by Avery Elle. I colored all the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Chicks: Y06 – Y08 – Y17
Beaks + feet: YR07
Balloons: BG13 – BG23 – BG49

I fussy cut all the images. I die cut a rectangle with the Double Stitchec Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things and added the images to the panel with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment with Sunflower Ink from Lawn Fawn. The entire panel I adhered with foam tape to some pattern paper, from the Perfectly Plaid 6x6 paper pad by Lawn Fawn.

As a finishing touch I added a white line to the balloons and some glitter with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.

WAVING HELLO (2)

Today I used my Zig Clean Real Brush Markers to create an underwater themed card, using the Mermaid For You stamps from Lawn Fawn.

For the background I used some watercolor paper and started adding some wavy lines onto it with the Zig Clean Real Brush Markers. After applying the color, I went over it with a wet paint brush. I used three colors of blue: 031 – 032 – 030

I set the background aside to let it dry. I stamped all the mermaids, the merman, seahorse and narwhal and colored them with the Zig Clean Real Brush Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Skin: 071 – 026
Hair mermaid 1: 062
Top + tail mermaid 1: 081
Hair mermaid 2: 072 – 050
Top + tail mermaid 2: 080
Hair mermaid 3: 060
Top + tail mermaid 3: 041
Hair merman: 010
Tail merman: 045
Narwhal: 081 – 092
Seahorse: 022 - 050

I fussy cut the images, stamped the sentiment onto the background and added all the images to the background with foam tape. I also stamped some bubbles and added glitter to them with the Spectrum Noir Silver Sparkle Pen. I also added Glossy Accents to those bubbles. I used the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen to add glitter to the mermaid’s and merman’s tails and tops.

I adhered the panel to some pattern paper with foam tape. I used the Beachside 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn. The entire panel was adhered to a blue cardbase.

THANK YOU (1)

I made a set of thank you cards with the Thank You Wishes stamp set from Mama Elephant.

I started on the background. I started by blending some Distress Ink onto watercolor cardstock, with a mini ink blending tool. I then used the Funky Florals stencil from My Favorite Things and went over the background with the same color. I used four different Distress Inks, one for each card. I used: Seedless Preserves, Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers and Worn Lipstick. This way you get a cool tone on tone effect.

I stamped the big Thank You onto all the cards. For each card I used a different sentiment that I stamped under the big Thank You.

I rounded off the bottom left and top right corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and added some glitter to the Thank You, with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen. I added all the panels to a white cardbase.
