HERB LABELS (1)

I recently bought some herbs to grow myself, but I was missing the labels. A crafty girl makes it herself! I used the Gleeful Gardens stamp set and Violet’s ABC’s from Lawn Fawn to create them.

I started by die cutting the labels, with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things. For the base I used the Perfectly Plaid 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn. I used two different patterns. I die cut one size smaller from white cardstock.

I stamped the names of the herbs onto the white rectangles, with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I used Violet’s ABC’s , an alphabet stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

When I stamped all the names, I wanted to add just a little image to each label. I used the biggest snail and the hummingbird from the Gleeful Gardens stamp set. I colored the miages with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Snail body: G21 – BG93 – BG96
Snail shell: Y38 – YR07 – E08
Hummingbird: BG13 – BG23 – BG49
Hummingbird beak: Y02

I fussy cut the images with my scissors and added them to the labels with some foam tape. I glued the labels onto some popsicle sticks with Glossy Accents. This is a strong liquid glue. I put them into my herb pots and it looks so cute. I’m sure no one has those!

SMOOCHES (1)

I had a simple idea for a card with the Chubby Chums stamps from Paper Smooches. Stacking them up!

I stamped all five of the chubby animals in the set and stamped them so they form a big stack. I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Chick: Y06 – Y08 – Y17 – Y38
Chick’s feet + beak: YR04 – YR07
Owl: E25 – E77 – E29
Owl’s beak + feet: YR21 – YR15
Owl’s eyebrows + belly: E00 – E21
Dog: W2 – W5 – W7
Dog’s tongue: YR02
Cat: Y38 – YR07 – E08
Cat’s eyebrows + nose + stripes: W5 – W7
Cow: C0 – C2
Cow’s nose: RV13 – RV21

I also colored the ground with a little W2 and W5, so it doesn’t look like they are floating. I left the background as is. I stamped the sentiment to the side, changing it up a bit. Plus I didn’t have room anywhere else :D .

I added the panel to a black cardbase, leaving a black border on the left of the card. I rounded off the two right corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I added glitter to the eyes with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen and then covered them with Glossy Accents from Ranger.

It’s not a perfect card, but I do like it.

WHAT'S UP (1)

My Favorite Things recently released these great Jungle Friends dies, which includes two elephants, a giraffe and a crocodile die. It also has some greenery to create a cute scene. They are standalone dies, so you use them without any coordinating stamps.

I decided to only use the giraffe for this card. I die cut him from some yellow cardstock. The hair I die cut from brown cardstock. I wanted some grass on the card, so I die cut the three different grass dies as well, from green cardstock. For the clouds I used the Simple Puffy Clouds from Lawn Fawn.

I trimmed a piece of pattern paper for my background. I used the Lawn Fawn Beachside 6x6 paper pad for that. I added all my die cut images to the background. I only adhered the two clouds at the top and the three right grass dies with foam tape. The rest is adhered flat.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafiny Onyx Black ink and I used Violet’s ABC’s from Lawn Fawn to create this greeting. As a finishing touch I added some shimmer to the clouds with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen. And I rounded off the top right ant bottom left corner with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. The entire panel was adhered to a yellow cardbase

I’m going to use these dies more often, because they will be perfect for fun scenes.

CRAFTY HAUL (4)

I got a lot of new stamps and dies and it hardly cost me anyhting. Some I got second hand from people who didn't use them anymore and some I got because I had store credit over at one of my favorite online craft stores.

I got the Avery Elle stamp set Snow My Fun off of someone who didn’t use the set anymore, so I could get it for a very good prize. I know it’s a winter and Christmas themed set, but that’s okay. I especially love the sled image.

The Happy Harvest set from Lawn Fawn is one of my most wanted sets, but I initially wanted to wait until it was actually fall. But because I had some store credit at a online craft store and I saw it was in stock, I decided to buy it. And I’m glad, because I really don’t have to wait until the fall to create cards with it. I can also make encouragement cards or thank you cards with this set.

The Simple Puffy Clouds dies from Lawn Fawn can come in handy for many projects. I can use them to create scenes, sky themed cards, I can make shakers out of it. Three different shapes and sizes.

The Jungle Friends dies from My Favorite Things are so cool. They are standalone dies, so not coordinating for a stamp set. I can create two elephants, a crocodile and a giraffe with these dies, but there is also some greenery that goes along with it. I already have a lot of ideas.

I really love these Stitched Square Scallop Frames from My Favorite Things. I can use them to frame up a card, but also for shakers. I like the stitched edge, but also the scallops on the inside of the frame. And I didn’t have any square dies yet, so that’s a win as well.

And last I got the Sun and Moon dies from Lawn Fawn. They go perfect with the clouds I got. Also a set that will come in handy.

NEED A CHEWBACCA HUG? (1)

I’m a “Star Wars” fan and I once saw someone turn the Yeti image, from the Lawn Fawn stamp set Yeti, Set, Go, into Chewbacca. I wanted to try that too.

I started by stamping the Yeti, but I didn’t want the belly. I rubbed off the ink on the belly with my stamp shammy. I added the belt onto the image with a Sakura pen. I also stamped the biggest tree from the set, three times. I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Chewbacca: E11 – E15 – E25 – E29
Belt: W5 – W7/ C0 – C2
Tongue: R22 – R35
Trees: G21 – BG93 – BG96

I die cut the images with my Cuttlebug. I also die cut a circle with the My Favorite Things Double Stitched Circle STAX. I used half of the circle to create a hill for Chewbacca to stand on. I stamped the sentiment on that hill as well. I used the sentiment from the Yeti, Set, Go set, and the name Chewbacca I created with Violet’s ABC’s from Lawn Fawn.

I added the hill, Chewbacca and the trees to some pattern paper. I used the Beachside 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn. I added some gold stars from Pretty Pink Posh. The panel I adhered to a kraft cardbase and I colored the edges gold with the Spectrum Noir Gold Sparkle Pen.

I really worked hard to make this card. I did it so many time, but this is the final result. I’m pretty with it.

WE FLAMIN-GO TOGETHER (1)

For the Lawnscaping Challenge, I needed to create a card with some kind of distressing or distress products on it. Luckily for me my Distress Inks are some of my most beloved supplies.

I started by the background. I used two different Distress Ink colors: Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick. I applied it onto the watercolor cardstock with my mini ink blending tool. When it was blended the way I wanted it, I took my mini mister and sprayed some water onto the paper. I dabbed off the droplets with a paper towel. This is one of my favorite techniques.

I set the background aside, to let it completely dry. I stamped the two flamingos onto white cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Flamingos: RV21 – RV23 – RV13
Beeks: W5 – W7

The palm trees I stamped with two Lawn Fawn inks:
Tree trunks: Doe Ink (Lawn Fawn)
Leaves: Noble Fir Ink (Lawn Fawn)

I fussy cut the images out. I also die cut three heart with the Heart Dies from Lawn Fawn. I wanted them slightly darker then the background and I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to give them some color. I also added some water droplets to the hearts.

I assembled the card. I adhered all the images and heart onto the card with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and added the panel to a black cardbase. As a finishing touch I added some glitter to the hearts with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.

THANKS YOU'RE ONE OF A KIND (1)

Today I used the Happy Days stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to create a thank you card.

I started by stamping the kite twice onto some watercolor paper, with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I then heat embossed it with Clear Silver Embossing Powder from Wow. I colored the kites with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Left kite: 031
Right Kite: 032
Bows on strings: 050
Cheeks: 026

I fussy cut the images out and set them aside. I then went over the my background. I took some pattern paper from the Beachside 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn. I also die cut a cloud border with the Puffy Cloud Borders, also from Lawn Fawn. I then took the Thanks Word die from Paper Smooches and die cut it three times from some black cardstock. I used stick-it adhesive to adhere all three words. This simply creates the die cut word into a sticker and makes it easier to adhere together, because it’s such a delicate die.

I started to assemble the card. I adhered the cloud and the die cut word to the pattern paper. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment onto the cloud, in Sunflower Ink from Lawn Fawn. I wanted that yellow from the bows to return somewhere, so I used it in the sentiment. I then adhered the kites. The strings I adhered flat, the kite itself with foam tape. I added some glitter to the word Thanks with the Spectrum Noir Black Sparkle Pen.

I adhered the panel to a blue cardbase and rounded off the bottom right corner with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

I had a completely different idea when I started, but I’m happier with this result. Sometimes you just create a project along the way.

WE MERMAID FOR EACH OTHER (1)

I used the Mermaid For You stamp set from Lawn Fawn to create a love card.

I started by creating a scene. I cut some waves from watercolor cardstock and used some Distress Inks to color them. I used two colors: Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean. For the sky I wanted a big moon. I die cut a circle from some masking paper. I used the negative die cut to mask of the sky, so I could color the moon. I used Mustard Seed and Wild Honey Distress Inks. For the sky I masked off the moon and colored the sky with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I used Black Soot around the edges and later added a light layer of Seedless Preserves.

I set the background and the waves aside and stamped one of the mermaids, the merman and the rock twice. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Mermaid + mermaid skin: E00 – E11 – E21
Mermaid hair: Y38 – YR07 – E08
Mermaid top + tail: V04 – V06 – V12
Merman hair: E25 – E29 – E77
Merman tail: BG13 – BG23 – BG49
Rocks: W2 – W5 – W7

I fussy cut the images out and started assembling the scene. I adhered the waves onto the background, the front one with foam tape. The rocks I adhered flat, the mermaid and merman I adhered with foam tape. I added some glitter to the tails with the Spectrum Noir clear Sparkle pen. I also added some little dots to the sky, with a silver gel pen. I wanted a starry background. Finally I stamped the great sentiment onto the card with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

This is a perfect card to send for a wedding, engagement or just to let your partner know you love him/ her.

YOU ARE MAGICAL (1)

I created a very magical card today, using the Magical Unicorns stamp set from My Favorite Things.

I started on the background. I wanted to create some colorful clouds, so I die cut one of the cloud borders with the Puffy Cloud Borders from Lawn Fawn. I used this as a mask to blend. I put the mask onto the paper and started blending Distress Ink onto the paper with a mini ink blending tool. I used three different colors: Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw.

After I did the background I stamped the castle and one of the unicorns. I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Unicorn: C0 – C2
Manes, tail, nose and hooves: BV000 – BV02 – BV13
Castle: RV21 – RV23/ YR000 – Y21

I fussy cut the images and added them onto the background with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder from Ranger. A added some glitter to the horn with the Spectrum Noir Silver Sparkle pen and to the rest of the unicorn’s body with the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen.

I added the entire background to a pink cardbase with foam tape. This is a perfect card for a little girl’s birthday or a lovely friend.

CANDY BOX (2)

This weekend it’s father’s day and I made a cute candy box for my dad. I put a little present inside.

I die cut the candy box, with the Candy Box die from Lawn Fawn. You have to do that twice, in order to create the candy box. I used the Beachside 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn. I folded all the crease lines and put the box together. I closed the ends with some twine.

I didn’t want to leave the candy box like this, so I used the Dad + Me stamps to create a cute little scene. I stamped the dad and baby moose and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Moose: E25 – E29
Antlers + hooves: E11 – E21

I die cut a rectangle with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things and on that I stamped my sentiment. I used Fish Tank Ink from Lawn Fawn. I adhered the stamped images and then added the whole thing to the candy box.

As a finishing touch I added some sparkle to the antlers and hooves, using the Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.

Super simple and yet it looks like you put a lot of work into it. Very cute.

WAVING HELLO (1)

Today I created my first slider card, using the Mermaid For You stamp set and the Slide On Over dies, both from Lawn Fawn.

I started by stamping one of the mermaids and the narwhal. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Mermaid skin: E00 – E11 – E21
Mermaid hair: Y38 – YR07 – E08
Mermaid tail + top: BG13 – BG23 – BG49
Narwhal: W0 – W2 – W5 – W7

I also stamped one of the corals and the sea weed. The coral I stamped in Wild Rose Ink from Lawn Fawn and the sea weed I stamped in Green Room Ink from My Favorite Things. I fussy cut all the images out.

I went over to my background and scene. I die cut a rectangle with the Double Stitched Rectangles STAX from My Favorite Things. I hand cut the bottom of the ocean, because I don’t have any hillside dies. I did put the hill through my Cuttlebug, because I wanted that stitched edge. I stamped the sentiment on the hill with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I used one of the slider die cuts from the Slide On Over set. I took a penny (5 euro cents) and added it to the back of the slider. I cut a small piece of foam tape that could fit through the slider window and added the narwhal and mermaid to it. This way the image can slide from side to side. I adhered the panel to a dark blue cardbase with a double layer of foam tape. Now the sliding image has enough room to slide. I added the sandy hill to the panel with foam tape and the corals and sea weed. To finish it off, I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the mermaid’s top and tail.

I think my first slider card looks pretty cute.

CRAFTY HAUL (3)

I went on the fantasy road this time when ordering new craft supplies.

The Mermaid For You stamp set from Lawn Fawn is just adorable with a capital A. I loved it the minute I saw it. There are so many great images in this set and I just love the sentiments. I can also combine this with an older Lawn Fawn set, Fintastic Friends.

The Magical Unicorns stamp set from My Favorite Things asks for some sweet, cloudy and glittery cards. I already have a million ideas with this set and I really like the unicorn images in this stamp set.

I wanted to create slider cards for a while and with this Slide on Over die set from Lawn Fawn I finally can. I can use them with lots of stamp sets, but I'm already thinking of a great card using the Mermaid For You set. Can't wait to finally create a slider card.

I also got a new ink pad. I choose the Manatee Ink pad from Lawn Fawn. It's a lighter grey color, something I can use for so many things.

SUNNY DAYS AHEAD (1)

I made a card with the Happy Days stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I saw a very similar card on YouTube.

I only used the umbrella image. I stamped it once with the face on it. The other umbrellas I stamped without the face. I just simply masked it off. I also masked off the umbrellas that were already stamped, this way it looks like they are overlapping each other. I also stamped the raindrops on the background.

I colored the umbrellas with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Red umbrella: R14 – R17 – R46
Green umbrella: G14 – G05 – G17
Purple umbrella: V06 – V09 – V17
Yellow umbrella: Y06 – Y08 – Y17
Blue umbrella: BG01 – BV05 – B05
Cheeks: RV02
Umbrella handles: W5
Raindrops: BG72

I didn’t want the background to be stark white, so I decided to use my blending tool and some Distress Ink to add some color. I picked Peacock Feathers and I used a very light hand while applying the color. I didn’t even mask the images off.

I stamped the speech bubble and the sentiment onto some white cardstock and fussy cut it with my scissors. I then adhered it to the panel with foam tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the rain drops and some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the red umbrella. I adhered the panel to a red cardbase and rounded off the top corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

It’s the perfect encouragement card for someone who can use some happiness.

IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, CONGRATS (1)

Today I made a card using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the first time. I used the Summertime Charm stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I started by stamping the strawberry and lemon wedge images onto some Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock. I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink, because it’s perfect for watercoloring. I then went over to coloring the images. Like I said before, I colored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Strawberry: 022 – 041
Lemon wedge: 050

I added some color onto the image, where I wanted it to be darkest. Then I pulled the color out with a wet paint brush. This way it goes from darkest to lightest. And I love the vibrant colors!

After I watercolored the images, I went ahead and die cut my sentiment. I used the Congrats die from Lawn Fawn. I die cut it three times, with my Cuttlebug, and adhered them together to create dimension. I added the sentiment to some vellum, that die cut with the My Favorite Things Double Stitched Circle STAX. I also stamped “It’s Your Birthday” above the die cut word.

I adhered the vellum circle with the sentiment onto the panel. The panel I adhered to a black cardbase, that I cut slight bigger than the panel itself. I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the word Congrats and some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. As a finishing touch I rounded off the top right corner with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

I’m definitely going to use those Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers a lot, because I love them!

I entered this card into the Lawnscaping Challenge, where the theme was to add at least one element that was on an angle. Well, those fruits are all on different angles, so I think I hit the brief.
