THANK YOU FOR BEING MY MAMA BEAR (2)

It’s almost mother’s day and I created a mother’s day card last week. I used the same stamp set for this card, only a different image. I used the Bear Hugs set from Mama Elephant.

I started with the background. I took some Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and blended some Distress Inks to create a night sky. I started with Salty Ocean as my base layer. In the end you won’t see much of it, but I wanted to have a good base. Then I added some Seedles Preserves and Chipped Sapphire. At the end I added some Black Soot. Because this is a very dark color, I only used it at the edges of the cardstock. I finished the background by spraying some water onto it with the mini mister and also added some drops. I dabbed the water off with a paper towel and it creates a great effect.

I stamped one of the bear images and colored it with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Mama bear: E71 – E77 – E29
Little Bear: E15 – E25
Noses: E11 – E21

I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the panel. I prepped the area I wanted to stamp the sentiment with my powder tool. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Bright Opaque White Embossing Powder from Wow.

I added the panel to cardbase made of Kraft cardstock.

HELLO (1)

I’ve had this stamp set for a while. The You Gnome Me stamp set from My Favorite Things. I made a simple friendship card.

I started with the background. I used the Funky Florals stencil from My Favorite Things and used two Distress Inks to blend. I used Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seed. I love how easy this is and you create a beautiful background.

I stamped one of the gnomes on some white cardstock and colored him with Copic Markers. I wanted the colors to match the ones in the background. Here are the colors I used:
Hat + pants: Y02 – Y06 – Y08 – Y17
Shirt + shoes: YG11 – YG03 – G14
Skin: E00 – E11 – E21
Flower pot: YR15 – YR68 – E08
Flowers: V04 – V06 – V12/ BG93/ Y06
Beard: W2 – W5

I fussy cut the image and added it to the panel with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Bright Opaque White Embossing Powder from Wow. I cut a strip and added it to the panel with foam tape. I adhered the entire panel to a yellow cardbase and rouded off the bottom right corner with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. As a finishing touch I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to the card.

A card for any occasion.

THANK YOU FOR BEING MY MAMA BEAR (1)

I wanted the Bear Hugs stamp set from Mama Elephant from a while and I finally found it. I got it second hand from a woman who ended her crafting hobby. Luckily for me I got it for a fair prize, right before mother’s day. Because I wanted to create a mother’s day card with it.

I decided to try something new. I did some no line watercoloring. I stamped one of the images with Antique Linen Distress Ink. A very light Distress Ink, that will fade when I start watercoloring the images. I used Distress Inks to watercolor everything. I used Walnut Stain for the mama bear and Antique Linen for the nose and ears. For the little bear I used Vintage Photo and also Antique Linen for the nose and ears. I created grass with Mowed Lawn and the sky with Peaock Feathers. I’m really happy with the look of this no line watercoloring, especially for my first try.

To add more interest, I die cut the top part of the panel with the Puffy Cloud Borders from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I adhered the panel to some kraft cardstock with foam tape and the entire panel was adhered flat to a dark brown cardbase. I rounded off the top corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Although I prefer coloring with Copic Markers, I really do want to try this watercoloring technique more often.

SUPER HERO IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY (1)

In my previous post I created a birthday card for a boy, as a request. I made another one, but this time with the Tiny Heroes stamp set from Mama Elephant.

I first die cut a circle with the Double Stitched Circle STAX from My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment on it with Soot Ink and Lobster Ink from Lawn Fawn. I also stamped several stars and the shield image with three Lawn Fawn Inks: Fish Tank, Lobster and Sunflower.

I stamped the boy superhero and colored him with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Hair: E11 – E35 – E25 – E77
Skin: E00 – E11 – E21
Costume: R14 – R17 – R49/ Y08/ BG05 – B05 – B28

I die cut the image with my Cuttlebug and adhered him onto the circle with some foam tape. I added the circle to some pattern paper with foam tape. For this I used the Shimelle (True Stories) 6x6 paper pad by American Crafts. I rounded off all the corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and added it to a blue cardbase.

To finish the card, I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the costume and some star sequins to the stamped shields.

Another boy birthday card, completely different from the one with the monsters.

MONSTER WISHES (1)

I was asked to make two birthday cards for boys. The first one I made was with the Avery Elle stamp set Monsters. I haven’t used it as much as I would like, but I thought this was the perfect occasion.

I started by stamping all the four monsters on some white cardstock. I had to mask the two monsters on the outside off, so I could stamp the hairy monster behind them. I also stamped the balloon three times.

I wanted to give it a boyish look by only using blue tones. I added some purples and blue greens as well, to make it a bit more interesting. I used my Copic Markers to color the images. Here are the colors I used:
Hairy monster: BV02 – BV13 – BV17
Monster on the right: B05 – B28 – B18/ V04 – V06 – V12
Monster on the left: BV000 – BV02 – BV13/ BG13 – BG23 – BG49
Flying monster: V04 – V06 – V12/ BG000 – BG01 – BV05
Balloons: B05 – B18 – B28/ BG13 – BG23 – BG49/ BG000 – BG01 – BV05
Ground: E00 – E11 – E21 – E35

I’m really happy with the coloring. I added some white stripes to the balloons, white dots to the ground and white to the monster’s eyes, with a white gel pen. I stamped the sentiment with Fish Tank Ink from Lawn Fawn.

I rounded off all the four corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and added the panel to some pattern paper. For this I used the Shimelle (True Stories) 6x6 paper pad by American Crafts. I rounded off those four corners as well and added the entire panel to a blue cardbase. I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the balloons.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (6)

I love the Altenew stamps, because of the stamp layering technique. The Painted Flowers stamp set is my first Altenew set and I tried it out while making this birthday card.

I stamped the flowers onto some white cardstock. For each flower you need two tones of one color and the outline you can stamp with black ink. For the leafs you also need two colors. For the red flower I used Wild Rose Ink and Lobster Ink, both from Lawn Fawn. For the yellow flower I stamped in Butter Ink and Sunflower Ink, also from Lawn Fawn. The leafs were stamped with Sour Apple Ink and Green Room Ink from My Favorite Things. The black outline I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The flowers are supposed to look a bit messy, because they have a painted look.

I stamped the sentiment onto some dark red cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow. I trimmed it down to a strip and adhered it to the background with foam tape.

A adhered the panel flat to a yellow cardbase and rouded off the two right corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

It’s a more classical card, something I hadn’t done before. I’m going to use these Altenew stamps more often and I really want to add more of them to my collection. These flower stamps could also be perfect for wedding cards or sympathy cards.

SUPER HERO HAVE A NICE DAY (1)

Someone asked me if I wanted to make a card for a girl’s first communion. I immediately thought of the Tiny Heroes stamp set from Mama Elephant and gave it my own twist to it.

I started by stamping one of the superheroes and colored the image with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Hair: E15 – E25 – E35 – E77
Skin: E00 – E11 – E21
Costume: RV10 – RV13 – RV21/ V04 – V06 – V12

I die cut the image with my Cuttlebug and went over to my background. I struggled with it a lot, but eventually came up with this. I die cut a rectagle with the My Favorite Things Double Stitched Rectangle STAX. I used the Dotted Stencil from Crealies and blended dome Spun Sugar Distress Ink onto some Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock. I used a very light hand, because I wanted a light background. I die cut a circle and used the negative space as a mask. I used the same stencil inside the circle and added Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to the background.

The circle was going to be the place for the superhero, so she is in a spotlight. I adhered here with foam tape. I stamped ‘super hero’ onto the card with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and underneath that I used a sentiment from Lawn Fawn. Normally this sentiment says: have an ice day, but I changed it a bit.

You can also use this as a girl’s birthday card, but this one already has a destination.

YOU'RE A COOL CHICK (1)

I just received this sweet Spring set from Lawn Fawn, called Chirpy Chirp Chirp. It can be used for Easter cards, but also for baby cards, friendship cards, birthday cards and other occasions. I made one for a friend.

I started with the background. I took some blue cardstock as my panel. I cut some white cardstock and die cut the top with the Puffy Cloud Borders from Lawn Fawn. I did the same with some pattern paper. For this I used the Shimelle (True Stories) 6x6 paper pad by American Crafts. I adhered all of these papers flat onto each other.

I stamped one of the chicks, the paint brush and the bucket onto some white cardstock. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Chick: Y02 – Y08 – Y17/ YR07
Paint: BV05 – B05 – B28
Paint bucket: W2 – W5
Paint brush: E11 – E15 – E25/ YR07

I fussy cut all the images and placed them on my panel. I stamped the sentiment with Fish Tank Ink from Lawn Fawn and wanted it to look like the chick painted the sentiment. I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the chick and the paint on the brush and bucket. Finally I adhered the panel to a yellow cardbase.

A very simple card, but hopefully something to cheer up my friend.

SNAIL MAIL FOR YOU (1)

The Gleeful Gardens stamp set is perfect for creating scenes. And that’s exactly what I did. I made this card twice, for two of my friends.

I started by die cutting the background. I used the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things. I cut it from light blue cardstock. Then I cut some hills, with my scissors, from some Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock. I used Distress Inks and my mini ink blending tool to color them. I used Old Paper and Mowed Lawn on the front hill and Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles for the back hill.

I stamped the images from the set. I stamped the two snails, the flower, the envelope and the grass. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Snails: Y38 – YR15 – YR68 – E08/ G21 – BG93 – BG96
Grass: YG11 – YG03 – G14
Envelopes: B23 – B93 – B95

I fussy cut all the images with my scissors (a lot of work) and assembled my card. I adhered the back hill flat onto the background and the front hill with foam tape. All the images were adhered flat, except for the images on top of the front hill. The tops of these images were adhered with foam tape as well. I added this all to some floral pattern paper from Echo Park and then onto a blue cardbase.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the envelope and flower.

I’m going to send these cards to two of my friends, just because I can!

THANKS (1)

Today I made a thank you card with the Summertime Charm stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I wanted to make a background with the solid flower stamp from the set. I stamped it repeatedly with different Lawn Fawn Inks. From top to bottom I used the following colors:
Butter, Sunflower, Carrot, Pumpkin Spice and Lobster.

I set my background aside and started with the images. I stamped the jar and the label with the word thanks. Inside the jar I stamped the open flower stamp repeatedly. I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Lid: W2 – W5 – W7
Jar: BV000
Flowers: Y02 – Y08 – Y17/ YR17
Label: R14 – R17 – R22

I covered the glass part of the jar completely with Glossy Accents from Ranger, so it looks like actual glass. When it was completely dry, I added the label to it. I adhered the jar onto the stamped background with some foam tape and rounded off the bottom right corner with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I adhered the entire panel onto some yellow cardstock that was bigger than the panel and also rounded the bottom right corner off. Finally I adhered everything to a red cardbase. Some Wink of Stella onto the label, and the card is done!

A simple summery thank you card!

I made this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge . Check it out!

YOU + YOU = ❤︎ (1)

A colleague of mine ask me if I wanted to make a wedding card. I make love cards often, but never wedding cards. So a nice opportunity to give it a shot. I used the Boom Bots stamp set from Paper Smooches and also the Hearts dies from Lawn Fawn, to create this wedding card.

I started by blending some Wild Honey Distress Ink on Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock. I added some water onto it with my mini mister and dabbed the drops off with a paper towel. When the paper was dry, I die cut hearts with the Hearts dies from Lawn Fawn. It has six different sizes. The negative space I used as a stencil to also create some hearts on the background of my card. I used Spun Sugar Distress Ink for that.

I went over to my images. I stamped the boy and girl robot onto some white cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Girl robot: BG93 – W5 – W7/ RV21 – RV13
Boy robot: BG93 – W5 – W7/ BG01 – BV05

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I used two different sentiments from the set to create my own sentiment. The heart I stamped with Wild Rose Ink from Lawn Fawn. Then I adhered the robots and die cut hearts to the panel with foam tape.

I added glossy accents to the heart in the sentiment, Wink of Stella clear glitter to the robots and I rounded off the corners of the panel. I adhered the panel with foam tape, to some pattern paper. I used the 6x6 paper pad from Cottage Living by Jen Hadfield (Pebbles). I added it to a white cardbase and also rounded off those corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

So even though I don’t have a stamp set that is specifically for weddings, I just checked my supplies and let my mind work. I’m pretty happy with it! And so is my colleague.

WEEKLY WISH LIST (13)

Here is this week's wish list.

Stamps: Let's BBQ (Lawn Fawn)

This is perfect for father's day cards and more masculin cards. It's really hard to do that by the way, so this card would make it easier.

Dies: Scripty Friends (Lawn Fawn)

I like the scripty word dies from Lawn Fawn. I already have Scripty Congrats and Scripty For You. I like this Scripty Friends die, which is off course perfect for friendship cards.

Inks: Cranberry (Lawn Fawn)

I already have the Lobster and Wild Rose Inks from Lawn Fawn and I only need this tone of red. It's a more dark, deep, red. And red is my favorite color, so it's kind of essential in my collection.

Other: Melt-It Powder (Wow)

I saw someone use it on YouTube. You mix this with embossing powder, melt it with your heat tool and put it in a mold or create dots with it. You can make your own embellishments or enemal dots. It's so cool!!!

THANKS A BOT (1)

Today I created a thank you card with the Boom Bots stamp set from Paper Smooches.

I started by stamping the background. I used a couple of the gears from the set and stamped them with three different Lawn Fawn Inks: Mermaid, Sunflower and Wild Rose. I was really happy with the result of this background.

I stamped the girl robot and the robot dog onto some white cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Robot: W2 – W5/ BG23 – BG49
Robot dog: W2 – W5/ BG23 – BG49/ R17 – R22/ Y08 – Y38

I fussy cut the images out. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and adhered the images onto the panel with foam tape. I adhered the panel to some pattern paper. I used the 6x6 paper pad from Cottage Living by Jen Hadfield (Pebbles).

The panel was adhered to a white cardbase. I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the robots and that finishes my card.
