EWE ARE THE BEST (1)

For this Mother’s Day card, I used the Ewe Are the Best stamp set from My Favorite Things.

I wanted to create a flat background scene, with two sheep popped up in the front. For the background I stamped several images from the set. I masked all the images off, so I could blend some Salty Ocean Distress Ink onto the panel to create a sky. When I took off the masks, I colored all the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Grassy hills: G14 – G05
Trees: G21 – G11/ BG96
Wind mill: R46 – R59/ E41 – E43/ YR07 – E08/ B00
Flowers: Y02/ G21 – G11/ YR000 – YR61

I die cut two pieces of white cardstock with the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn. I added them at the top and bottom of the colored background, so this creates some sort of a wavy frame.

I stamped two of the sheep images and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Face + ear + legs: E00 – E11
Wool: W0 – W2
Hooves: W7

I fussy cut the sheep and adhered them to the panel with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment and added the panel to a white cardbase.

I really liked the frame and the background I completely colored with Copic Markers. It was a lot of work, because of the coloring, but it was fun to do.
