For this storybook type mermaid card, I used the Mermaid For You stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I also used images from other lawn Fawn sets: Keep on Swimming, You are Sublime and Fintastic Friends.
I started by die cutting the Peekaboo Backdrop from some Blue Jay cardstock. For the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks, because I wanted bold colors. I used Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio. I added some water drops to it, which I dabbed off with a dry cloth. I also added some Chinese White paint.
For the sand, I used the Stitched Hillside Borders and Paper Bag cardstock. I used Ground Espresso Distress Ink to add some splatter to it.
I stamped the images and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Mermaids: E00 - E11/ E55 - E57/ Y15 - Y26 - YR23/ V01 - V12/ YG41 - G02/ E08 - E18/ W5 - W7
Gold fish: Y38 - YR68
Puffer fish: Y15 - Y26
Clam: E00 - E11/ V01 - V12/ YG41 - G02
Eal: YG11 - YG13/ BG15 - BG18
Moon fish: Y15 - Y26/ V01 - V12
Seahorse: R35 - R29/ BG15 - BG18
Rocks: W3 - W5 - W7
Plants: R35 - R29/ YG11 - YG13/ V01 - V12
I fussy cut all the images and assembled the card. I stamped the sentiment and added the panel onto a Peacock cardbase.
As a finishing touch, I added some highlights and dots with a white gelly roll pen.
Mermaids are just awesome, I love coloring them.
