SMILE CROCODILE (1)

I made a very simple, clean card with the Critters Down Under stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I started with the background. I used the Circle Burst stencil from My Favorite Things, which I just got in the mail yesterday. I used two Distress Ink colors to blend the background. I started with Mustard Seed, from right to left. Then I added a little bit of Wild Honey on the right.

When I finished the background, I stamped the crocodile image with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored the image with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
G21 - BG93 - BG96

I die cut the crocodile with my Cuttlebug and adhered it to the panel with some foam tape. I stamped the sentiment and done is the card. I thought off adding some sequins, but I liked it this way. I did add some Wink of Stella to the crocodile and rounded off the bottom left corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Just a simple card that will cheer you up!

YOU'RE A PURRFECT FRIEND (2)

Today I made a friendship card with the Cat-Itude stamp set from My Favorite Things. I made this card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.

I started with the background. I used Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and a Heidi Swapp triangle stencil. I taped the stencil over the cardstock, so it doesn’t move while I’m blending the colors onto the paper. I used two Distress Inks. I started from the bottom with Evergreen Bough. I wanted it to fade towards the top. I added a little bit of Peacock Feathers towards the bottom.

When my background was done, I stamped two of the cats and one of the fish with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Left cat: W0- W2- W5 – W7/ R11
Collar: R22 – R35 – R59
Right cat: E11 – E21 – E71 – E77/ E04
Collar: BG13 – BG23 – BG49
Fish: BG49 – BG72

I die cut all the images with my Cuttlebug. I stamped the sentiment on a white strip of cardstock, in some Mermaid Ink by Lawn Fawn. I also cut a rectangle from some pattern paper. I used the 6x6 paper pad from Cottage Living by Jen Hadfield (Pebbles).

A started assembling the card and adhered everything with foam tape. The entire panel was also adhered with foam tape, to a white cardbase. I rounded off the top right corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. To finish it all off, I added some sequins and also some glitter with the Wink of Stella brush pen to the fish, collars and cat’s noses.

I love the look of this card!

WEEKLY WISH LIST (5)

Here is this week's wish list:

Stamps: Recipe for Happiness (My Favorite Things)

It’s part of this February’s new release and I can’t wait to get this set. It’s so adorable and I already have a million ideas with these stamps.

Dies: Scalloped Rectangle Stackables (Lawn Fawn)

Just to add more dimension with those scalloped edges. Love ‘em!

Inks: Bubblegum (My Favorite Things)

I’m not a fan of pink, but this soft pink ink pad is just gorgeous and would look great in my growing collection.

Other: Embossing Folder Gemstone (We R Memory Keepers)

I’ve seen people use these embossing folders and they are so amazing. I don’t dry emboss much, but with these I would more often.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (1)

I was thinking rainbow! For this card I used the Adorable Elephants stamp set from My Favorite Things and I watercolored the background. I screwed it up the first time, but the second try turned out great.

I started by stamping the sentiment repeatedly on some watercolor cardstock from Tim Holtz. I stamped it in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow. I wanted to do it on an angle and I created a pattern by altering the position of the words.

When I finished stamping and heat embossing, I taped the paper down to avoid warping. I wetted the paper and then started to add the watercolor. I used Distress Inks, I just love how versatile these inks are. I wanted to create a rainbow effect. I used the following colors from top left to bottom right: Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserved and Picked Raspberry. I dried it with my heat tool and set it aside.

I stamped one of the elephants with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and I also stamped the kite. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Elephant: W0 – W2 – W5/ R22
Kite: R29 – R35 – R59/ Y02 – Y08 – Y17/ B05

I die cut the images with my Cuttlebug and added them to the background with some foam tape. To add some sparkle, I added some tiny and bigger silver sequins. I adhered the panel to a yellow cardbase and rounded off all the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

A bright card that will hopefully put a smile the face of the receiver!

YOU COLOR MY WORLD (2)

I used the Color My World mini stamp set from Lawn Fawn for this card.

I stamped the crayon on some white cardstock. I die cut a mask and put it over the stamped image. I used the Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some color around the crayon. I did this with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. Because of the mask, it puts a little white border around the image. Like a halo.

I colored the crayon with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
YG03 – G07 – G14

I stamped the sentiment with Green Room Ink from My Favorite Things. I also stamped two different sized hearts around the crayon, in that same Green Room ink and also Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

Because I got some inky fingerprints onto the card, I wanted to fix it instead of starting over. I used the Squares stencil from Crealies and blended some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto the background. For a little bling, I added some silver and green sequins.

I adhered the panel to a dark green card base and rounded off the bottom two corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. It’s a real simple card, very quick to make. I’m probably going to make this in some other colors.

THANKS YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER (1)

Of all the stamp sets I’ve recently purchased, the Tiny Heroes set from Mama Elephant is definitely a favorite. I love this set.

I started with die cutting a rectangle with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things. I then stamped three of the tiny heroes with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic markers. Here are the colors I used:
Hair left girl: Y08 – Y17 – Y38
Hair boy: E21 – E35 – E25 – E77
Hair right girl: Y21 – Y38 – E08
Outfits: R35 – R46 – R59/ BV05 – B05 – B28
Skin: E11 – E21
Ground: W0 – W2 – W5
Sky: BG000 – BG01

I stamped the sentiment towards the top of the panel with Lobster Ink from Lawn Fawn. I adhered the panel with foam tape to a dark red card base. I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the masks and the star elements in the costumes.

A very simple card, yet time consuming because of the Copic coloring. I love this card.

REMEMBER, YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME (1)

Today I wanted to make a card without any stamps, beside the sentiment.

I used the Double Stitched Circle STAX dies from My Favorite Things and die cut several circles in different sizes. I used the 6x6 paper pad from Cottage Living by Jen Hadfield (Pebbles).

I took a piece of white cardstock to use for the background. I used the Dotted stencil from Crealies and added Spun Sugar Distress Ink to it with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. Then I moved the stencil a little bit to the right and added Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. I used a light hand on both colors, so it’s not overpowering.

I adhered the circles to the panel and some of them I adhered with foam tape. I die cut a rectangle with one of the dies from the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX set from My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment onto it in two different Inks from Lawn Fawn. The top part of the sentiment I stamped with Mermaid Ink and the bottom part with Soot Ink. I used those two colors because they coordinate with the colors of the circles. I adhered the sentiment with foam tape.

I adhered the panel to a white card base and rounded off all the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

A very simple card, easy and quick to make.

WEEKLY WISH LIST (4)

Here is this week's wish list.

Stamps: Sketched Blooms (My Favorite Things)

I’m really loving these layering stamp sets and those blooms from My Favorite Things look so amazing. I’ve seen several videos on youtube and examples on the internet, so I have lots of ideas already.

Dies: Pillow Box (Lawn Fawn)

This is the perfect die to create a pillow box to put in gift cards or other small presents. It’s really expensive though, but then all dies are.

Inks: Peacock (Lawn Fawn)

I already have Mermaid and this is a little darker, but I love having different tones of a color. And I really like the minty green blue tones.

Other: Inktense Pencils (Derwent)

This is an investment I’m willing to make, because I know I’m going to use them often. And of all the watercolor pencils I saw in tutorials, these give the most intense colors. I really want these. Maybe start with 36?

HAPPY PURR-THDAY (1)

The Cat-Itude stamp set from My Favorite Things is such a fun set.

I die cut two rectangles from some Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX. I wanted to create a background with Distress Ink. I blended Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I then sprayed some water on it with the Mini Mister and dabbed of the water with a paper towel. I did all this on both the die cut window and the rectangles. Those I’m going to inlay later.

I then stamped four of the cats from the set and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used.
Cat 1: E15 – E25 – E35/ E77/ Collar: YG03 – G05 – G14
Cat 2: W2 – W5 – W7
Collar: R22 – R46 – R59
Cat 3: Y21 – YR15 – E08/ E29
Collar: B05 – BV05 – B18
Cat 4: E29 – E71 – E77/ E04
Collar: Y06 – Y17 – YR63

I die cut the cats with my Cuttlebug and adhered them to the die cut rectangles. I adhered the die cut window to a beige cardbase with some foam tape. Then I adhered the rectangles flat to the cardbase too. I added some white dots to the cat’s cheeks and to one of the cat’s bellies with a Uni-ball white gel pen. I rounded off the bottom right and top left corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

YOU'RE SO SWEET (1)

I wanted to make a Valentine’s Day card, although I don’t really send them. I’m also going to enter this in The Lawnscaping Challenge and the task is watercoloring.

I die cut a rectangle with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things. I wanted to watercolor the background. I taped it down so it wouldn’t warp and I wetted the paper with a paint brush. I then added three Distress Inks to it. I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry. Then I used the Dotted stencil from Crealies and put it over the background. I sprayed water on it with my Mini Mister and then dabbed off the water with a paper towel. Now you can see the circles in the background.

I set the background aside so it could dry properly. I stamped the bubblegum machine and some of the gumballs from the Sweet Smiles set from Lawn Fawn.I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used.
Gumball machine: R22 – R35/ W0 – W2 – W5/ BG000

I die cut the images with my Cuttlebug and then I finished my background. I stamped some hearts on it with the same Distress Ink colors as I used to watercolor the panel and the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then adhered the images with foam tape. The entire panel was adhered flat to a red card base. I rounded off the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

As a finishing touch I added some Wink of Stella to the gumballs and some Glossy Accents to the glass portion of the machine.

So there you have it, a fun Valentine’s Day card.

I really love this set, but it’s really hard to find. This is such a fun set to make cute birthday cards for kids.

When I wanted to purchase this to make Christmas cards, it was sold out everywhere. I still want it, so I’ll keep waiting for it to go back in stock.

I need a vibrant, bright yellow color and this Lawn Fawn Ink pas is just what I want.
