CRAFTY HAUL (18)

I was spoiled this Christmas, with these awesome craft supplies!

First I got the Let's Polka in the Dark 12 X 12 Paper Pack, that you can see in the background of the photos. There are four patterns: Striped, hearts, large polka dots and small polka dots.

I got the Upon a Star stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I really like those critters looking up and all those stars and constellations are amazing. I can already see a night sky with those stars.

For my Lawn Fawn Inks collection, I got the Fake Tan Ink pad. A nice orange colors.

From Lawn Fawn's newest release I got the Woodland Critter Huggers dies and the Stitched Gift Card Pocket. They can work together and seperate. You can create such cute animals with these dies and the pocket can be added to the back to add a gift card. I can't wait to use these dies!!!

The Monster Love stamp set from My Favorite Things is really cool. It's all solid stamps and they come with seperate eyes and mouths. I can already imagine some cool monsterous scenes and patterns that can be created with these fun monsters.

I've been wanting this Party Animal stamp set from Lawn Fawn for a while, I just never got my hands on it. Now I do have it and I can't wait to create fun party scenes with these critters. I like all these little elements that come with the set, you can add them to the critters paws.

Last I got this Stitched Hillside Backdrop: Landscape die. I die cuts a frame with hills and it has some other elements in it to create and finish off your scene. Like a house and trees. It's a great scene builder and I think I will use it often.

I can't wait to start crafting with all these great supplies!!!!

CARD SET: BITS & PIECES (1)

I made a love themed card set using the Bits & Pieces stamp set from Concord & 9th. I used one color pallette and three different designs.

I used the little leaf stamp to create the hearts. I used several Lawn Fawn Inks to make those hearts: Ballet Slippers Ink, Bubblefum Ink, Plastic Flamingo Ink, Wild Rose Ink, Peachy Keen Ink.

For each card I used a different design. I wanted to create a little more detail to some hearts, so I took the textured leaves. One with a stripe pattern and one with a dotted pattern. I used Hippo Ink for this. I alternated with the two patterns.

I stamped the same sentiment on each card, to create a bit more unity. I added the panels onto a Ballet Slippers cardbase. And done is this simple card set.

The quickest card set I ever made!

INSTEAD OF TEXTING, I MADE THIS CARD (2)

This card was also made by me as a guest designer for the Lawn Fawnatics blog (an entire blog post was dedicated to this card!). The task was to use your favorite Lawn Fawn stamp set. For the first card I used Happy Harvest, which is my absolute favorite. Because I didn’t want to use the same set, I decided to go with my second favorite stamp set for this next card. I used Love Letters.

For the base panel, I die cut a piece of watercolor paper with the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables. For the bottom portion, I die cut a piece of Perfectly Plaid Chill paper. My color palette is also based on this pattern paper.

I blended a little bit of Fossilized Amber Distress Ink towards the top of the panel, to match the yellow in the plaid paper. I stamped all the images and I also used the little Santa hat from Cheery Christmas. I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Left bird: YG41 – G02
Right bird: B18 – B39
Beaks: Y17
Envelope: Y17 – YR16
Letter: C0 – C2
Pen: W7 – W5/ R29 – R59/ YR61 – YR02
Santa hat: R29 – R59/ C0 – C2

I fussy cut all the images and assembled the card. I die cut another piece of Perfeclty Plaid Chill paper, in a different pattern, with the Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. I adhered the panel onto this and added the entire card onto a Chili Pepper cardbase.

As a finishing touch I added some white dots and stripes to the birds and envelopes.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR (3)

I’m so proud to tell you that Lawn Fawn has asked me to be there guest designer for this month’s challenge, over at the Lawn Fawnatics blog. The task this time is to use your favorite Lawn Fawn stamp set. Well, mine is Happy Harvest. Since it’s almost Christmas, I really wanted to use this stamp set in a holiday setting. Something I haven’t done before.

I started on my background. I stamped and heat embossed snow, from the Snow Cool stamp set, with the white embossing powder from Ranger. I wanted to create a bright blue sky with Distress Inks. I used two colors: Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.

I die cut two snowy hills from white cardstock, using the Stitched Hillside Borders. I stamped the sentiment onto the smallest hill, with Lobster Ink. The sentiment is from Merry Messages.

I stamped all the images. Off course the scarecrow from happy Harvest, but also some images from the Cheery Christmas stamp set. I colored all the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Hat: E31 – E33/ B93 – B23
Pants: B93 – B23
Sweater: Y17 – YR15
Stake: E57 – E29
Straws: Y21
Buttons: C3
Ornaments + lights: R17 – R29/ YG07 – G07/ Y08
Squirrels: E08 – E18
Bird: C3 – C5/ YR15
Santa hat: R17 – R29

I fussy cut all the images and assembled the card. I adhered the panel onto a Chili Pepper cardbase.

I’m so honored that this card was made by me as a guest designer. So cool!!! Please check out the Lawn Fawnatics blog for inspiration, or maybe to participate yourself.

MY FAVORITE CRAFT SUPPLIES 2017

So many new craft supplies were added to my stash this year. I either bought it myself of got it as a gift. Like last year, I’m going to list my favorite craft supplies I got this year. They don’t necessarily need to be released in 2017, it’s what I got this year. So here we go!

STAMPS:

Bannertastic (Lawn Fawn)
This is a set that probably won’t work by itself, but it’s not meant for that. These banners are perfect for sentiments. You can either stamp the outline and color the banner, or you stamp the outline as well as the inside with the solid stamps. Either way, it looks great and I used it a lot this year.

Bicycle Built For You (Lawn Fawn)
The minute I saw this stamp set, I wanted to have it. I don’t usually buy coordinating die sets, but I did for this one. Because it cuts out the insides of the wheels. Because I do everything by bicycle myself, this was a perfect set for me.

Costume Party (Lawn Fawn)
Although Halloween isn’t a holiday we celebrate here in The Netherlands (a little more every year though), I always love making Halloween cards and the sets that Lawn Fawn brought us over the years are all amazing. Just like this Costume Party stamp set. Such cute images, especially that boy dressed up as a pumpkin!

Love Letters (Lawn Fawn)
I think this is my favorite stamp set for 2017. I used it a lot and not just for Valentine’s Day, where it was designed for. It was actually my most used set this year. A perfect set for any card maker, because of the theme and messages.

Seaside Seagulls (My Favorite Things)
Seagulls aren’t the most exciting animals to color, they are not very colorful. But these seagulls in this set are anything but dull. They are whimsical and playful and very easy to create fun cards with.

Sewn with Love (Lawn Fawn)
I initially bought this set to create a Mother’s Day card with. That particular card is one of my favorites I made this year. My mom is very creative as well, so to make a card for her with this set was really easy. Because of all the tiny images, I also got the coordinating die set. This set is great when you make cards for crafters.

The Cat’s Meow (Mama Elephant)
This is certainly the biggest stamp I own. I’m not a cat person, but I just loved this stamp set right away. You have that one big stamp, but also some solo cat stamps and lots of accessories.

Up in the Air (My Favorite Things)
There is something about hot air balloons. And fictional creatures flying them! It’s so much fun to color these balloons and then add these cute critters to the baskets. I made some really cool cards with this set. My favorite MFT set of this year.

Wild For You (Lawn Fawn)
Critter sets are always great when done by Lawn Fawn. I love this set! The giraffe and lion are my favorite images. I really enjoy creating scenes with these images and I like the sentiments that come with this set.

Bits & Pieces (Concord & 9th)
This is the first Concord & 9th stamp set I got and it’s such a versatile stamp set. When you just look at the set, it doesn’t look like much. I looked it up on their website and there are amazing examples. For instance, those stripes can be used to create a cake. And you can create and design fantastic patterns with the little images. There are solid images, but also textured images. Like dotted and striped images. So fun to work with and perfect to create clean, quick and simple cards.

Ocean Fun (My Favorite Things)
I’m a sucker for ocean themed sets. This one is a bit different, because it contains only solid stamps. And they stamp so clean. There are still so many ideas I have for this set.

Simple Fruits (Altenew)
I looked everywhere for this set, I finally found it during a craft fair. Also all solid stamps and great to create patterns with. And the sentiments are so great, so punny!

DIES:

Ocean Wave Accents (Lawn Fawn)
It’s a small die set, with just a few wavy dies. They cut waves into cardstock, to add an extra accent to your ocean or beach scene. And you can put an image inside the wave, like a boat or a shark.

Outside In Stitched Square Stackables (Lawn Fawn)
I didn’t have any square dies yet and this die set is a great one to start with. Because it doesn’t only add stitched detail to the inside, also on the outside of the cutting line. So, when you cut a frame, it adds that stitching detail too. So two for one actually!

Stitched Cloud Backdrop: Landscape (Lawn Fawn)
It cuts you panel, but embosses the clouds. The clouds have a stitching line and are a perfect way to start your scene. Great to cut from colored cardstock or patterned paper, but also to ink blend or water color over.

Words For Friends (My Favorite Things)
I don’t have a lot of word dies, I really need more. This set of three words is really fun to work with and MFT has many more of those sets. They are a great size, not too big and not too small. And the words can be used for friendship cards, birthday cards, sympathy cards, love cards, encouragement cards, you name it!

For You, Deer Add-On (Lawn Fawn)
I already had the stamp set and its coordinating dies. This add-on set turns your deer and bear into a tag or even a book mark. It’s so much fun to create something other then a card every once in a while.

Palm Trees (Lawn Fawn)
Life’s a beach! And then you need this die set. You can create awesome palm trees with this set and it also comes with a cute crab. You can cut all the elements from colored cardstock, but you can also ink blend all then die cut images. Whatever you do, it will look amazing.

Stitched Ornaments (Lawn Fawn)
There are so many ways to use this die set. I made a card with the ornaments, I created Christmas gift tags and also Christmas tree ornaments with a shaker element. There is a lot of die cutting involved, but the result is always good.

INKS:

Blueprint Sketch (Distress Ink)
I was really looking for a deeper more intense blue. And I found that with Blueprint Sketch. I love creating night skies with this color.

Celery Stick (Lawn Fawn)
Many people know that lime green is my color. So this green color definitely needed to be in my collection. It’s a beautiful color for spring themed cards, but also perfect for Christmas.

Minty Fresh (Lawn Fawn)
I’m a big fan of pastels and mint green is probably my favorite out of all the pastel colors. So this Minty Fresh Ink was a definite must have for me.

Peachy Keen (Lawn Fawn)
This peach color is so beautiful and it’s surprisingly easy to combine with the other Lawn Fawn colors. Also really great for spring and summer themed cards.

Ripe Persimmon (Distress Ink)
I’m not a fan of orange, but Ripe Persimmon is definitely an exception. It’s a more reddish orange and it’s very vibrant. I used it a lot for skies actually.

Thumbled Glass (Distress Ink)
This is one of the softest colors in the Distress Ink line. I use it mostly for subtle skies.

Twisted Citron (Distress Ink)
The color I was wanting the most this year. I love this fresh green color. Perfect for greens on you card, like trees, grass or leaves. It’s not ‘in your face’ but it’s definitely bright in a more subtle way.

OTHERS:

Apple Green (Nuvo Crystal Drops)
The Nuvo Crystal Drops are in general one of the best crafty finds of the year. This was one of the first colors I got and I used it pretty often. It matches the Twisted Citron Distress ink and the Celery Stick Ink really well.

Bubblegum Blush (Nuvo Crystal Drops)
I don’t really like pink, but I do like the look of the more pastel soft kind of pink. It’s not too present.

Cloud Stencil (My Favorite Things)
This stencil is a must for every card maker. It’s so easy to create a cloudy sky with this stencil. And you can also make ocean waves with this stencil, did it several times. You just flip the paper and there are your waves.

Dandelion Yellow (Nuvo Crystal Drops)
The only two yellows I really like are the soft pastel kind and the yellow that is a bit darker. It’s a really pretty shade of yellow, that makes every card a bit brighter.

Radiating Rays Stencil (My Favorite Things)
The MFT stencil are so awesome to work with, like this Radiating Rays stencil. It’s a great way to add a sun of some sort to the background of your scene. I used it in many ways already.

Red Berry (Nuvo Crystal Drops)
I like to add a little pop of red to each one of my cards. And this Red Berry is the perfect red color to do this with. I even used it to embellish the nose of a deer, to turn him into Rudolph.

Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers (Kuretake)
Watercolor is a technique that I really love to do. It’s a great way to step outside my comfort zone and to get away from my trusted Copic Markers. And the Zig Markers really make watercoloring a lot easier. They blend so well and the colors are so vibrant, even with water added.

Mini MISTI (My Sweet Petunia)
The most amazing stamping tool. It’s a stamp positioner and it stamps perfect every single time. I got the mini set, because I’m on a budget and it works perfect for card making. Sometimes I wished I had the bigger version, but I mostly get it all done with the mini MISTI.
