YOU'RE A PURRFECT FRIEND (3)

I saw the idea for this card on Instagram. I decided to make it myself, with my own twist and style. I used the Cat-Itude stamp set from My Favorite Things.

I started on the scene. I took a piece of watercolor cardstock. With an ink blending tool I applied Weatherd Wood and Tattered Rose to it, with a very light hand. I used the Small Brick Wall stencil from My Favorite Things. I mixed Fired Brick Distress Ink with some Texture Paste from Ranger and applied it to the panel, over the stencil with a palet knife. This way I created a brick wall for my cats to sit on.

For the night sky I took another piece of watercolor cardstock. I masked a circle off. I wanted this to stay white, so it can be the moon. I applied Chipped Sapphire to the cardstock with e blending tool. I then added some Black Soot Distress Ink as well, to darken it all up a bit. I then removed the mask. I added some gold dots to the sky, with a gel pen.

I stamped three of the cats and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Left cat: W5 – W7/ W0
Collar: Y00 – Y11
Middle cat: E41 – E43/ E25 – E29
Collar: YR61 – YR02
Right cat: C0 – C2/ C5
Collar: R22 – R35

I die cut the images and starting assembling the card. I adhered the brick wall to the sky, with foam tape. I did the same with the cats. Then I stamped the sentiment in Nightshift Blue Ink from My Favorite Things. I trimmed it down to a small strip and adhered it with foam tape to the card. The panel I adhered flat to a red cardbase.

YOU'RE A PURRFECT FRIEND (2)

Today I made a friendship card with the Cat-Itude stamp set from My Favorite Things. I made this card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.

 

 

I started with the background. I used Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and a Heidi Swapp triangle stencil. I taped the stencil over the cardstock, so it doesn’t move while I’m blending the colors onto the paper. I used two Distress Inks. I started from the bottom with Evergreen Bough. I wanted it to fade towards the top. I added a little bit of Peacock Feathers towards the bottom.

 

When my background was done, I stamped two of the cats and one of the fish with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:

Left cat: W0- W2- W5 – W7/ R11

Collar: R22 – R35 – R59

Right cat: E11 – E21 – E71 – E77/ E04

Collar: BG13 – BG23 – BG49

Fish: BG49 – BG72

 

 

I die cut all the images with my Cuttlebug. I stamped the sentiment on a white strip of cardstock, in some Mermaid Ink by Lawn Fawn. I also cut a rectangle from some pattern paper. I used the 6x6 paper pad from Cottage Living by Jen Hadfield (Pebbles).

 

 

A started assembling the card and adhered everything with foam tape. The entire panel was also adhered with foam tape, to a white cardbase. I rounded off the top right corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. To finish it all off, I added some sequins and also some glitter with the Wink of Stella brush pen to the fish, collars and cat’s noses.

I love the look of this card!

YOU'RE A PURRFECT FRIEND (1)

This Cat-Itude stamp set from My Favorite Things is just so awesome! I wanted to make a friendship card and this set is ‘purrfect’ for that!

 

 

I started with die cutting two of the cats and then stamping the images on the paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used :

Large cat: Y21 – YR15 – E08

Collar: G05 – G14 – YG03

Small cat: W2 – W5 – W7

Collar: Y02 – Y06 – Y17

Ears: RV02

 

 

I die cut two circles from some pattern paper with the Double Stiched Circle STAX from My Favorite Things. I used the Shimelle (True Stories) 6x6 paper pad by American Crafts. I cut a strip of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment on it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I cut the strip into a flag banner. I added the cats and banner on the two circles with some foam squares.

For the background of the panel I used the Crealies Squares stencil. I put the stencil onto the paper and blended some Scattered Straw Distress Ink with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I adhered the stacked circles with the cats onto the white panel and adhered the panel to a grey card base.

 

 

As a finishing touch I added some white dots to the cat’s cheeks with my Uni-ball gel pen and I rounded of the bottom right and top left corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.
