WOOL DONE (1)

I while ago I won a prize from Avery Elle, after joining in on a giveaway over at their Facebook page. I won the Avery Elle stamp set Made With Love. It’s a cute set, but I have to admit it’s not the easiest set to create cards with. It’s not as versatile, but I did come up with something. It’s not my favorite card, but I’d like to share it with you anyway.

I started by stamping the wool image onto some white cardstock. I colored it with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
R22 – R35 – R46 – R59

I then die cut the piece with one of the circle dies from the Double Stitched Circle STAX from My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment, which I think is brilliant, in some Lobster Ink from Lawn Fawn. I added some Wink of Stella glitter to the knitting pens and adhered the panel to a white cardbase. I rounded off the top corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Although it’s a very simple card to make, it took me some time to come up with it. I’ll give it some time and I will probably come up with some other ideas for this stamp set. Maybe you have tips for me too!

WEEKLY WISH LIST (6)

Here is this week's wish list.

Stamps: Peony Bouquet (Altenew)

I'm in love with the stamps by Altenew. I think they were the company that started with the layering stamp sets and I just really need a more classic stamp set for more classic cards. This is just perfect.

Dies: Grassy Border (Lawn Fawn)

Just an essential. It is perfect to create scenes with critters.

Inks: Manatee (Lawn Fawn)

I already have Soot, but I need a lighter grey tone. This seems to be the one I need. And I just love the name, Manatee.

Other: Sun Ray Stencil (My Favorite Things

I just love working with stencils and I'm using them more and more. I really love this Sun Ray stencil, it can do so many things.

TO A DEER FRIEND (1)

I always love shaker cards, but I always struggle with them. I used the Toboggan Together stamp from Lawn Fawn to create a friendship card.

I started by blending the background with two Distress Ink colors. I used Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac. I also dropped some drops of water onto is and dabbed them off with a paper towel.

To make a shaker window, I die cut it and used two of the the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment onto it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I then stamped one of the deer and the stack of presents. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used.
Deer: E25 – E29 – E35/ E00 – E11
Presents: RV02 – RV10 – RV21/ BV000 – BV02 – BV13/ BV13 – BV17 – BV29

I die cut the images and started to assemble my shaker card. I added some acetate to the frame and added foam tape all around the frame. I put a double layer of foam tape, so the shaker material has enough room to shake. I put some sequins in and adhered the frame to the background. I adhered the presents and the deer to the frame and added some Wink of Stella to the presents. Done is the card.

I’m very happy with this shaker card!

THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH A HUGE EFFORT (1)

I’m joining another Sketch Challenge by My Favorite Things. I used the Adorable Elephants set again.

I started with the background. I used the Funky Floral Stencil from My Favorite Things and blended three Distress Ink colors. I used Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn. I used a light hand while blending, I didn’t want the colors to be too dark.

When the background was done, I stamped one of the elephants, the little flowers and the heart shaped balloon. I colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Elephant: W2 – W5
Ears: RV10 – RV21 – WO
Balloon: YG11 – YG03 – G14
Flowers: Yo6 – Y38 – BG000

I die cut the images with my Cuttlebug. I cut a strip of dark blue cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment on it, with some Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow. I adhered the sentiment onto some vellum and added it to the background with foam tape. Then I added the images to the card as well. I wanted the dark blue to return somehow, so I adhered the background to dark blue card base, that was slightly bigger than the background. This way, you see a strip of it on the left of the card.

I rounded off the top right corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the balloon and covered it with Glossy Accents from Ranger.

I had a clear idea in my head and the card turned out exactly the way I wanted.

I THINK YOU'RE SUPER DUPER (2)

For the Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge the theme was Ray of Sunshine. The idea came to me pretty quickly.

I started with the Circle Burst stencil from My Favorite Things and blended four Distress Ink colors to the background. I started from the bottom with Mustard Seed, then Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and a little bit of Fired Brick towards the bottom.

I set the background aside and stamped the image. I choose the flying superhero girl from the Tiny Heroes stamp set from Mama Elephant. I colored the image with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Skin: E00 – E11 – E21
Hair: W2 – W5 – W7 – BV29
Mask + gloves + cape + shoes: R29 – R59 – R46
Dress: Y02 – Y08 – Y17

I die cut the image and adhered it to the background with some foam tape. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. To finish it off, I rounded the top right corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I also added some Wink of Stella to the hair, gloves, belt and boots.

This card didn’t really take a lot of time, but I really love the look of it.

FOR YOU (2)

For the new Lawnscaping Challenge, I had to make a card including hearts or a love sentiment.

I started with the background. I cut a heart shape out of some masking paper and put it over the background. Then I taped down the a Heidi Swapp triangle stencil and started blending some Distress Ink over it. I used Picked Raspberry. I removed the mask and the stencil and I then put a mask over the heart. I taped the stencil down again and blended Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

I set the background aside to let it try properly. I used the Scripty For You die from Lawn Fawn and die cut it three times from some white cardstock. I adhered the three die cut words onto each other. Then I covered the word with Versamakr Ink and heat embossed it with Silver embossing powder from Ranger.

I adhered the die cut For You over the heart. I also added some silver sequins for some extra sparkle. It’s a very simple, yet, pretty card.
