WELCOME BABY (3)

Another baby card, this time with the Happy Hatchling die set from Lawn Fawn.

I took the Watercolor Wishes paper pack and die cut the chick, the sky and the grass. Besides the Happy Hatchling set, I also used the Scalloped Circle Stackables, Small Stitched Circle Stackables and the Grassy Border dies. The egg I die cut with very light grey cardstock. And the background was cut from Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper.

I assembled everything, stamped the sentiment in Hippo Ink (from the Critters Down under set) and rounded off all the corners.

All die cutting, super easy and extremely cheerful!

WELCOME BABY (2)

I don’t make enough baby cards. When I saw this cute platypus image from the Critters Down Under stamp set from Lawn Fawn, a baby card idea was born!

I started by stamping the platypus image on some white cardstock (it’s so adorable). I also stamped the egg a couple of times. I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Platypus: E00 – E11 – E21/ E15 – E25 – E77/ Y08 – Y17
Eggs: E00 – Colorless blender

I die cut the images with my Cuttlebug and started on my background. I wanted to keep it simple. I used the Funky Florals Stencil from My Favorite Things. It’s such a gorgeous stencil. I used Spun Sugar Distress Ink and added it to my background, with the mini ink blending tool.

I cut a pink border and adhered it flat to the background. Over top I adhered a piece of vellum, that was broader then the strip of pink cardstock. I adhered the ends of the vellum strip to the back of the panel. Then I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow. Then I adhered the platypus and the eggs with foam tape. The entire panel was adhered to a pink cardbase.

I just started this card, without any plan. It turned out great. This is a baby girl card, but off course, with blues, you can also make it into a baby boy card. I will do that myself.

WELCOME BABY (1)

I’ve had this Critters Down Under stamp set from Lawn Fawn for a while, but I never got a great idea for it. Until now. A baby card!

I stamped the kangaroo image several time with Versamark Ink on some Tim Holtz water color cardstock. I heat embossed it with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow. I water colored the images with Distress Inks. I used Spun Sugar and Salty Ocean. This way it’s a universal baby card.

I stamped another kangaroo with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and water colored it with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and Worn Lipstick for the nose. I die cut it with my Cuttlebug. I added some white dots to the face with my Uni-ball gel pen.

I trimmed a strip of vellum and stamped the sentiment on it, with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I cut it a little longer than the actual panel, so I could tape the strip on the back. I also added some twine, before adhering the kangaroo with foam squares.

I adhered the entire panel to a black card base. It’s a fairly simple card and it’s good to add to your stash.
