I wanted to create a fun friendship card using the Gleeful Gardens stamp set from Lawn Fawn.
I started by drawing a square on white cardstock, with a pencil. I’m going to work within this frame, but I don’t want it to be perfectly straight (hard for a perfectionist like me). I stamped the grass and the flower onto the cardstock, those are going to be in the background. The bird, snail and envelope I stamped onto another piece of paper. They are going to be adhered later so they are in the front. Before I started coloring, I used some Distress Ink to watercolor the background of the square. I used Evergreen Bough and only a very light wash of it. I wanted it to look a bit messy and random.
I started coloring the images with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
Hummingbird: BG23 – BG49/ YR15
Snail: G21 – BG96/ YR15 – YR07 – E08
Envelope: V04 – V06 – V12
Grass + stem flower: YG03 – BG93 – BG96
Flower: Y21 – Y17 – YR15/ BG000
I fussy cut the hummingbird, snail and envelope and adhered them to the panel with foam tape. This way they pop and it looks like they are in the front. I stamped the sentiment onto the card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the envelope and hummingbird.
I adhered the panel to some pattern paper, from the 6x6 Perfectly Plaid paper pad from Lawn Fawn. I used foam tape for this. The entire panel was adhered flat to a yellow cardbase.
I made this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge where we had to use critters on the card.
