So far, the Critters in the Arctic stamp set from Lawn Fawn is my most used set. And I had another great idea for a birthday card. It’s a shaker card as well. I will also enter the Lawnscaping Challenge with this card.
I die cut a circle from some white cardstock and a bigger one to use as a frame. I used the Double Stitched Circle STAX from My Favorite Things. The circle in the panel will be my shaker window and I will turn it into a big balloon.
For the background, which you will see through the shaker window, I used some Distress Inks and my mini ink blending tool. I used three colors: Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire. I also used those three colors for the stitched circle that I will put around the die cut shaker window on the front of the panel. I put some water droplets on the background and dabbed them dry with a paper towel.
I went over to stamping the narwhal on the front panel. Before I colored him, I added a string to the balloon and wrapped it around his tusk. Then I colored the narwhal with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used:
W2 – W5 – W7
I put some acetate behind the shaker window and added a double layer of foam tape to the back to adhere it to a dark blue cardbase. I put the sequins inside the shaker. I used some blue and aqua colors, to coordinate with the background colors I used.
When the card was assembles, I finished it off with some Wink of Stella glitter to the narwhal. I also rounded off the bottom right corner with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and added some of the same sequins to the front of the card as well.
I love how it turned out, such a cute birthday shaker card!
